Your local cleaners in Catalina
A established residential pocket on the north side, Catalina is family homes and long-term rentals. Regular house cleaning and carpet cleaning are our bread and butter up here. We're Batemans Bay based, so Catalina is an easy run for us, no travel surcharge and often same-day availability.
What we know about Catalina
- Homes backing onto the Catalina Country Club and golf course are mostly established family places where we do regular and carpet cleans.
- The suburb edges the Cullendulla wetlands, and bushland-adjacent homes pull in more dust and leaf litter than beachfront ones.
- Lots of long-term rentals through Catalina means bond cleans come up regularly.
- Carpeted family homes here are our bread and butter for carpet cleaning.
- No travel surcharge, it's an easy run from the bridge.
Cleaning in Catalina, on the north side of the Bay
Catalina sits on the north side of Batemans Bay, an established residential pocket that filled in over the years rather than going up all at once. It isn't a beachfront strip and it isn't a holiday-shack hamlet. It's mostly people who live here all year, raising kids, renting long term, or settling in for the long haul near the golf course. That mix changes what we get called for, and it's why our regular runs through Catalina look pretty different to the changeover-heavy work we do down at Malua Bay or out at North Durras.
The streets here are full of brick-and-tile family homes from a few different eras, plenty of them carpeted through the living areas and bedrooms. A good slice of the suburb is long-term rental stock, which keeps the bond clean side of our work ticking over. So when we talk about Catalina, we're mostly talking about lived-in family homes and tenanted houses, not weekenders that sit empty half the year. That single fact shapes nearly every job we do up here.
The Catalina Country Club and golf course end
A fair bit of Catalina is built around the Catalina Country Club and the golf course, and the homes backing onto that green belt are some of our favourite addresses to look after. They tend to be established family places, owner-occupied, lived in for years, and the people in them want the same house cleaned the same way on a steady schedule. That's the regular cleaning bread and butter for us up here, fortnightly or weekly runs where we know the layout, know the dog, and know which rooms cop the most traffic.
Homes along the course edge also get a bit of their own character. Open aspect onto the fairways means more light through the glass, which shows every smear, and a touch more breeze carrying grass clippings and fine dust toward the back sliding doors. We keep an eye on the rear glass and the door tracks on these places because that's where it shows first. It's a small thing, but it's the kind of detail that separates a house that has been cleaned from a house that has been cleaned properly.
Backing onto the Cullendulla wetlands and the bush
The thing that genuinely sets Catalina apart from the waterfront suburbs is the bush. The suburb edges the Cullendulla wetlands, and that mangrove and bushland fringe changes the kind of grime we deal with. Down on Caseys or Corrigans you're fighting salt and beach sand. Up here, the homes that sit close to the wetlands and the bush blocks pull in more dust and leaf litter, fine grey bush dust that settles on every flat surface and dead leaves that blow up against doorways and find their way inside on shoes.
That bush-adjacent dust is sneaky. It builds up on skirting boards, on the tops of door frames, in flyscreen mesh and along window ledges, and it dulls a home without anyone quite noticing why. So on the wetland-side streets we spend more time on the horizontal surfaces and the screens than we'd on a tight-packed inland street with no bush around it. We also see more leaf debris tracked across entry mats and onto carpet near the back door, which feeds straight into the carpet cleaning we do so much of here.
Living close to the wetlands and the bush also means the odd damp patch and a bit more in the way of cobwebs around the eaves and external corners, especially after a wet stretch. We factor that in when we quote a Catalina home rather than treating it like a dry inland block.
It's worth saying the bush is also why a lot of people choose to live in this part of Catalina, the quiet, the birdlife off the wetlands, the green outlook. We aren't here to fight the setting, we just keep the inside of the house on top of what the setting throws at it. A few extra minutes on the screens and the door tracks each visit is all it takes to stop that fine wetland dust getting the upper hand.
Carpet cleaning is our bread and butter here
More than anywhere else on our run, Catalina is a carpet suburb for us. The family homes through here are heavily carpeted, lounge rooms, hallways and bedrooms, and carpet in a busy family house takes a beating. Kids, pets, footy boots and that bush dust and leaf litter we mentioned all end up ground into the pile. So carpet cleaning is genuinely our bread and butter up here, not a once-a-year extra.
We get the regular calls for a freshen-up before visitors, the seasonal reset when the carpets have gone flat and grey, and the spot jobs after a spill or a pet accident that a tenant or owner wants sorted before it sets. Because the dust load here's heavier on the bush-side streets, carpets in those homes tend to need a clean more often than a beachfront unit would, and locals who have lived here a while already know that.
We also do a lot of carpet work tied to the rentals, which we'll get to, because a tenanted carpeted home almost always needs the floors cleaned at the end of a tenancy to meet the agent's standard.
End of lease and bond cleans for the rental stock
Catalina has a lot of long-term rentals, and that keeps our bond clean work steady through here. These aren't quick holiday turnovers, they're full end of lease cleans for tenants who want their bond back and agents who hold the property to a standard. We clean to the REINSW exit standard with a bond-back guarantee, so the place comes up the way the agent expects, oven and racks, inside cupboards, tracks, skirtings, wet areas and the carpets cleaned where they need it.
Because so many of these are carpeted family homes, the bond clean and the carpet clean usually go hand in hand on a Catalina exit. An agent will knock back a final inspection over flat, marked carpet just as quick as over a dirty oven, so we line both up together rather than leaving a tenant to chase a carpet job separately at the worst possible time. Doing both in the one visit is far less stress when there's a removalist booked and keys due back.
We know the local agents and what they look for on a north-side rental, and that local knowledge means fewer surprises at the final inspection. For a tenant moving out of Catalina, that's the difference between getting the full bond back and copping a re-clean.
Owners and property managers ring us too, between tenancies, to get a Catalina house presentation-ready before the next lease. With the rental stock through here turning over the way it does, a clean, fresh-carpeted home shows better at the open and lets quicker, so it pays for itself. We can turn one of these around fast given how close we're over the bridge.
Regular home cleaning for Catalina families
Most of what we do in Catalina is the steady stuff. Regular home cleaning for families who are busy with work, kids and everything else, and would rather come home to a clean house than spend the weekend on it. These are recurring runs, weekly or fortnightly, where we get into a rhythm with the household and keep the place on top of that bush dust before it builds up.
Being family homes that are actually lived in, the jobs lean toward the kitchens, bathrooms and high-traffic living areas that take the daily hammering, plus the carpet and floor care that this suburb needs more of. We use low-tox products, which matters a lot to the families up here with little kids crawling on the floor and pets sleeping on it. You shouldn't have to choose between a clean house and a houseful of harsh chemical smell, and in a permanent home that someone breathes in every day, that isn't a small thing.
We're a small local team, so the same faces turn up to your place. Plenty of our Catalina regulars know Tyson, Shanice and Lisa by name, and that familiarity is half the value, you aren't letting a different stranger into the house every visit.
Based in the Bay, so Catalina is an easy run
We're based in Batemans Bay, and Catalina is just over the bridge on the north side, so getting to you is genuinely quick. There's no travel surcharge for Catalina, it's an easy run from the bridge, and that closeness means we can often fit in a same-day or short-notice job when something comes up, an inspection sprung on a tenant, a carpet that needs sorting before the weekend, a regular clean that needs shuffling.
Being this local also means we actually know the suburb. We know which streets back onto the country club and which ones sit close to the Cullendulla wetlands and cop the bush dust, we know the rental pockets and the established family streets, and we know how to get around without burning your time and our fuel on the wrong route. That local knowledge is the quiet reason our Catalina jobs run smoothly.
We're open seven days, police-checked and fully insured, with a 5.0 rating from 110 Google reviews behind us. For a north-side suburb full of permanent homes and tenanted houses, having a cleaner who is close, reliable and known in the area counts for a lot.
