Home Care Provider Cleaning done properly

We provide regular domestic cleaning for older residents and people on Home Care Packages across the Eurobodalla, and we work alongside home care providers such as My Home Care, Goodwin and others to deliver it. Patient, respectful, police-checked cleaners who turn up reliably and work at your pace. Whether the cleaning is funded through a package and coordinated by your provider, or paid privately by you or your family, we keep the home clean, safe underfoot and comfortable.

A real home care provider cleaning job, here on the coast.

What home care cleaning actually covers

This is regular domestic cleaning built around older people who want to stay in their own home and keep it the way they like it. It's the steady, predictable stuff that keeps a house safe and comfortable week to week, not a one-off blitz. On a normal visit we do the kitchen (benches, stovetop, sink, splashback, wiping down the front of cupboards and appliances), the bathroom and toilet (scrubbing the shower, basin, taps, toilet and floor), vacuuming and mopping through the living areas and bedrooms, dusting surfaces you can reach and the ones you can't, changing or making the bed, and emptying the bins. We'll also wipe down high-touch spots like door handles, light switches and the kettle, because those are the places germs travel through a home.

There are sensible limits, and we're upfront about them so nobody is caught out. We don't do anything that needs a ladder higher than a small two-step, we don't move heavy furniture on our own, and we don't climb on roofs, gutters or get up into ceiling spaces. We're cleaners, not nurses or carers, so we don't do personal care, medication, wound dressings or anything clinical. That sits with your care team. We're also not a gardening or handyman service, although we're happy to flag something to your case manager if we notice the smoke alarm chirping or a tap dripping while we're there.

Plenty of households want extras on a rotating basis, and that's easy to build in. Inside the oven, inside the fridge, wiping down skirting boards, cleaning windows you can safely reach, washing and folding a load of laundry, or a proper going-over of one room a fortnight while the rest gets the standard clean. We sort that out with you and your coordinator when we set the schedule, so the funded hours are spent on what actually matters to you rather than a fixed checklist that ignores how you live.

Who this suits, and how we work with your provider

This service is for older residents across the Eurobodalla who are managing at home and want a hand keeping it clean and safe. Some of our clients are fully independent and just find the bending, scrubbing and lugging the vacuum around harder than it used to be. Others have a Home Care Package and a case manager organising their supports. Either way works. We take Home Care Package funding and we take private pay, and the cleaning we do on the day is the same regardless of who is paying for it.

We already work alongside providers like My Home Care and Goodwin, and we're set up to coordinate with case managers and support coordinators rather than make you the middle person passing messages back and forth. If your coordinator wants invoices in a particular format, a set number of hours each fortnight, or notes after each visit, we fit in with how they run things. If something changes in your package or your needs shift, we'd rather hear it from your coordinator and adjust quietly than have you worrying about it.

The thing that matters most to a lot of our older clients isn't the cleaning checklist, it's who walks through the door. We're a small local team, so you get the same trusted face, not a different stranger every week. The named cleaners our clients mention in their reviews are Tyson, Shanice and Lisa, and we work hard to keep the same person on your run so you aren't having to explain where the spare key lives or how you like the bed made every single time. Every one of our cleaners is police-checked, which we know gives a lot of families real peace of mind when someone is coming into a parent or grandparent's home.

The local angle: salt air, sandy feet and coastal homes

Cleaning a home on this coast is its own thing, and a team that lives here understands it in a way a city operator never will. The salt air off the water gets into everything. Glass sliding doors, windows and shower screens fog up and film over far quicker than they do inland, and aluminium window tracks pit and gather a gritty salt residue that needs proper attention, not a quick wipe. Homes out at Long Beach, Maloneys Beach, Surfside and Denhams Beach cop this worst, but it reaches right through Batemans Bay, Batehaven and Catalina too.

Then there's the sand. Sandy feet track fine grit through the house and it works its way deep into carpet and into the grout lines on tiled floors, where it sits like sandpaper and slowly wears the fibres and the finish. For our older clients that grit isn't just a cleaning problem, it's a slip and trip risk on hard floors. We vacuum properly rather than skimming the top, get into the edges and corners where sand collects, and mop hard floors so they're clean without being left slick. Homes around Sunshine Bay, Malua Bay, Lilli Pilli, Rosedale and out toward Guerilla Bay and the Murramarang National Park edge see a lot of this, especially in the warmer months.

We service the whole stretch, from North and South Durras at the top, through Nelligen on the Clyde River, down through the Bay suburbs and out to Mossy Point, Broulee, Tomakin, Mogo, and on to Moruya and Moruya Heads. We know the back roads, we know the trip down to the Moruya hospital precinct and Vulcan Street, and we know Mogo village. Being based in Batemans Bay means we aren't driving two hours to get to you, so we can keep regular fortnightly or weekly visits on time, which is exactly what a steady home care arrangement needs.

What to expect on the day

We turn up at the agreed time in the agreed window, and if we're ever running late because of a job before yours or the traffic on the bridge, we ring ahead. We don't just let ourselves in and start. The cleaner says hello, has a quick word about whether anything has changed since last time, and checks if there's anything in particular you want done this visit. With older clients that two minutes of conversation matters, and it often picks up small things, a spill that needs mopping or a room you haven't been into much.

While we work we're mindful that someone is living there and may be resting, watching telly or just wanting to be left in peace. We keep the noise down, we keep walkways clear so nothing becomes a trip hazard while we've the vacuum cord out, and we never rearrange your things. If we move something to clean under it, it goes back exactly where it was. We use low-tox products that are safe for the household and for pets, so there's no harsh chemical smell hanging in the air afterwards and no need to open every window in the middle of winter to clear it.

Slip safety is something we take seriously on these jobs. We mop in a way that doesn't leave floors dangerously wet, we work in sections so there's always a dry path through, and we let you know if a floor is still drying. If you use a walker or a stick, we make sure it stays within reach rather than getting tidied to the other side of the room. At the end we've a quick look around with you, mention anything we noticed, and confirm the next visit so it's locked in before we leave.

How the pricing works in plain terms

We keep pricing simple and honest. For private pay clients, most regular home cleans are priced on the time the job realistically takes for the size of the home and what's included, and once we've seen the place we can give you a steady ongoing figure so there are no surprises from one visit to the next. We're happy to come and have a look first, talk through what you want done and what you'd rather we left, and only then put a number on it. No obligation, and no pressure to sign up to anything.

If you're funded through a Home Care Package, the cleaning comes out of your package budget and your provider or case manager handles the funding side. We invoice in line with how your provider needs it, and we work to the hours that have been allocated rather than quietly running over. If your allocated hours are tight, we'll tell you honestly what we can get to a high standard in that time and help you prioritise, rather than rushing the whole house and doing none of it properly. If you want more done than the package covers, the extra can be done as private pay on top, and we keep that clearly separate so it's easy to follow.

There are no lock-in contracts and no exit fees. You can go weekly, fortnightly or monthly, pause while you're away or in hospital, and pick it back up when you're home. We would rather earn the next visit by doing this one well. The only thing we ask is a bit of notice if you need to cancel or move a visit, so we can offer that slot to someone else and keep the run efficient for everyone on it.

Common problems and how we handle them

The most common issue with regular cleaning for older clients is access. People misplace keys, forget a visit is on, or don't hear the door. We sort out an access plan that suits you, whether that's a lockbox, a key left with a neighbour or family member, or a set time you know to expect us. If we arrive and can't get in or get an answer, and we've reason to be concerned, we don't just shrug and drive off. We try your contacts and, if it's part of the arrangement, we let your case manager know, because sometimes a missed answer at the door is the first sign something isn't right.

Clutter is another honest one, and we never make anyone feel bad about it. Some homes have a lot of things, treasured things, and our job is to clean around and through that respectfully, not to throw anything out or decide what stays. If clutter is genuinely stopping us cleaning a surface or a floor safely, we mention it gently and work out a plan with you, perhaps clearing and properly cleaning one area each visit. Nothing gets binned without your say-so, full stop.

Pets, allergies and sensitivities come up a lot too. We use low-tox, family and pet-safe products as standard, so a cat sleeping on the lounge or a dog underfoot is no problem and there's nothing harsh left behind. If you've a particular product you prefer or react badly to, tell us and we'll work with it. And because we're a small team carrying full public liability insurance, on the rare occasion something gets knocked or marked, it's dealt with properly and openly rather than swept under the rug.

A few things that help us help you

You don't need to clean before we arrive, that's the whole point of us coming. But a couple of small things make every visit smoother and get more value out of the time. If you can let us know at the start of a visit about anything that needs special attention, a spill, a room that needs extra, a stain on the carpet, we can plan the time around it. A quick clear of benches and the bathroom vanity, if you're able, means we spend the funded minutes cleaning rather than shuffling items.

It helps to keep us in the loop through your coordinator about anything that changes, a new mobility aid, a fall, a stint in Moruya hospital, a change to your package hours. We adjust how we work to suit. If you've become less steady on your feet, we'll be even more careful about wet floors and trip hazards. If your hours have been cut, we'll refocus on the rooms that matter most to you. None of that needs to be awkward, a quiet word is all it takes.

If a pet needs to be shut away while we use the vacuum, or there's a particular cupboard or room you'd rather we never go into, just tell us once and we'll note it on your file so the next cleaner knows without you having to repeat yourself. The more we know about how you actually live in your home, the more the clean fits you rather than us imposing a generic routine on the place.

Why a careful local team gets this right

Home care cleaning isn't about speed, and it isn't about a flashy result for a photo. It's about the same person turning up reliably, treating an older person and their home with respect, and doing solid, consistent work that makes daily life easier and safer. That's hard to fake and easy to get wrong if a company is churning through casual staff and chasing volume. We're deliberately small, we're local, and we intend to stay that way, because that's what lets us keep the same face on your run and actually know your home.

Capital Coastal Cleaning is a proud Indigenous-owned, locally operated business, started here in 2023 by owner Tyson, and we work right across the Eurobodalla coast from Durras down to Moruya. We're police-checked, fully covered by public liability insurance, we use low-tox products that are safe for families and pets, and we hold a 5.0 rating from 110 Google reviews. We're open seven days, so if your provider needs a weekend visit or your usual day falls on a public holiday, we can usually still get to you.
