Home care cleaning that knows the Bay
Batemans Bay is where Capital Coastal Cleaning started and where we do the most work, so when we turn up for an older resident on a Home Care Package we already know the homes and the streets. A lot of people who have retired here are in the single-level villas and townhouses up behind the CBD and toward Hanging Rock, or in the smaller units down near the water. Those two kinds of home need different attention, and after a few years of working the Bay we know which is which before we knock on the door.
We're a small local team, Tyson, Shanice and Lisa, and that matters more for this kind of job than any other. An older client wants the same faces coming back every fortnight, not a stranger each time. Because the Bay is our base, you usually get the same one or two of us, you get to know us, and we get to know how you like things done and where everything lives.
Working with My Home Care, Goodwin and your package
We do the regular domestic cleaning that sits inside a Home Care Package, and we work with providers like My Home Care and Goodwin so the cleaning is part of your plan rather than something extra you have to chase. If your coordinator wants to sort it directly, we can talk to them about the visits, the day and what's included, so you don't have to be the go-between between us and your provider.
What we do on a regular visit is the steady stuff that keeps a home safe and comfortable when bending, reaching and scrubbing have got harder: bathrooms and the toilet, the kitchen, vacuuming and mopping through, dusting, changing the bed if you want that, and keeping on top of the spots that quietly build up. In the Bay we add the coastal jobs that catch older homes out, and that's where the local knowledge earns its keep.
Salt, glass and the jobs that get hard with age
Sitting right on the Clyde River and the bay, homes here cop salt spray on glass and aluminium. For a younger family that's an annoyance. For an older resident in a unit near the water it's one of the first jobs they quietly stop doing, because getting up to a shower screen or leaning over a window track is exactly what becomes risky. We take the shower screens, the window tracks and the sliding door runners on as part of the visit, the same salt-affected spots we already give extra attention to right across the Bay, so they never get to the stage where they need a ladder and a hard scrub.
Salt also doesn't stay on the glass. It settles into the home and holds a bit of damp, which is the last thing you want for someone who is home most of the day. Keeping the screens, tracks and floors on top of it keeps the place feeling fresh rather than slightly close and salty, which is a real thing in the waterfront units around the Promenade and Beach Road.
Slip-safe floors for the units near the water
Sandy feet are part of life in the Bay, and sand on a hard floor is genuinely slippery, more so on the tiles and timber-look floors in the newer units near the water. For an older client that's a fall waiting to happen, especially the run from the back door or the entry where the sand drops first. We mop with that in mind. We get the grit up rather than just wiping over it, and we don't leave a floor wet and slick for you to walk across while it dries. Where a floor stays damp because a unit holds the sea air and doesn't get much through-draught, we dry it back so you aren't stepping onto a slippery surface.
The bathroom gets the same thinking. A salt-filmed or soap-scummed shower base is slippery underfoot, so we keep the base and the floor clean and clear, which is the kind of small thing that makes a real difference for someone who is a bit unsteady getting in and out of the shower.
Low-tox products, for a reason here
We use low-tox products on every job, and for older clients in the Bay there's a specific reason it matters. Many of the units down near the water are closed up a fair bit, the sea air keeps them shut, and an older resident is home in that air all day. Harsh cleaning chemicals hanging in a closed-up unit aren't what you want for someone with a chest or sensitive skin. Low-tox keeps the place clean without leaving a sharp smell sitting in rooms that don't get a big cross-breeze.
It's the same reason the products suit homes where grandkids visit on the holidays, which happens a lot here given how many families come down to the Bay over summer. Safe to be around, no waiting for fumes to clear, no slippery residue left on the floors.
Trustworthy people in your home
Letting a cleaner into your home is a bigger deal when you're older and on your own, and we get that. We're police-checked and fully insured, we're local to the Bay rather than a crew that drives in and out, and we hold a 5.0 from 110 Google reviews. Being based here means if a regular visit needs to move because of an appointment or a hospital day, we can usually shift it without a fuss, and we're only minutes away if something comes up.
We're open 7 days, so we can fit the cleaning around the rest of your week and around the other supports coming in under your package. If you, a family member, or a coordinator at My Home Care or Goodwin want to set up regular cleaning for a home in Batemans Bay, give us a call on 0479 184 498 and we'll sort out the day, what's included and how it works with your plan.
