We're Capital Coastal Cleaning, an Indigenous-owned local team based up the road in Batemans Bay, and Mossy Point is a regular stop for us. We already run a loop through here with Broulee and Tomakin most weeks, so getting a cleaner to your door isn't a special trip, it's just part of the day.
Domestic assistance is funded help with the everyday cleaning that keeps a home liveable. For most of our Mossy Point participants that means bathrooms, kitchen, floors, dusting and the general tidy that's hard to keep on top of, especially in a beach town where the sand and salt never really stop coming in the door. We work to your plan, not to a one-size list, so the clean fits how you actually live. We should be upfront about one thing: we're not an NDIS-registered provider. Self-managed and plan-managed participants can choose us, but agency-managed (NDIA-managed) plans generally need registered providers, so we likely can't take that work.
Why a Mossy Point home needs a particular kind of clean
Mossy Point sits right on the Tomaga River, beside the boat ramp and a short walk from the beach, and that setting decides a lot about the cleaning. Sand walks in on feet, on towels and on the dog, and it ends up in the carpet, along the skirting and in the door tracks. Salt air drifts off the river mouth and the beach and leaves that hazy film on glass, on shower screens and on aluminium window frames. For someone managing a disability, that constant grit and film is exactly the sort of work that wears you out, so it's the work we make sure gets done properly each visit.
We pay attention to the floors first because that's where the sand collects, then the wet areas where the salt film builds up. If your support plan stretches to it, we can clean the carpets now and again to pull out the sand that a vacuum leaves behind. The aim is a home that feels fresh and is safe to move around in, not one that just looks tidy for an afternoon.
A place that gets learned, not just cleaned
We're a small team, just Tyson, Shanice and Lisa, and we make a point of learning your Mossy Point home properly. Where things go, which products you're alright with, that the laundry door sticks or the back step is slippery after rain, it all goes into your job notes, so you aren't explaining yourself from scratch every fortnight no matter which of us is on the loop that week. For a lot of participants, being able to leave us to get on with it is half the value.
Everyone on the team is police-checked and holds a Working With Children Check, and we're fully insured, so whether you live here year-round or you're settling into one of the quieter streets back from the river, you can have us in the house and not think twice about it.
Holiday lets and shared streets in a rental town
Mossy Point has a strong holiday-rental market, and that shapes NDIS cleaning here in a way it wouldn't in a quieter suburb. If you're a participant living in a street that fills with short-stay guests over summer, the place cops more foot traffic, more sand tracked past your door and more general coming and going than an inland town would. We keep your clean steady through all of that, including the busy stretches around Christmas and Easter when the town is at its fullest.
Some of our participants are also owners or part-owners of a holiday property here, and the line between a funded domestic clean of where you live and a paid changeover clean of a rental matters. We keep those completely separate. Your NDIS domestic assistance is for your own home and your own living, and we invoice it that way. If you also need a holiday let turned over, that's a normal commercial booking on its own invoice, never mixed in with your plan.
We clean to your hours and bill them straight
We work with both self-managed and plan-managed participants in Mossy Point. If you're self-managed, we send you a clean, plain invoice you can claim straight away. If you're plan-managed, we send it to your plan manager and sort out the details with them, so you aren't stuck chasing paperwork. Either way the invoice spells out the date, the hours and what was done, and it lines up with Assistance with Daily Life (household tasks) in your plan so there are no question marks when it gets claimed. Cleaning is our standard $60 an hour plus GST, itemised on the invoice.
We'll never pressure you to book more hours than your plan allows or talk you into things that aren't funded. We clean to the hours you have, do the most useful work in that time, and tell you straight if we think you'd get better value from a slightly different mix of tasks.
