Do you mow lawns and tidy yards too?
A straight answer from a local Eurobodalla cleaner.
Yes, we mow lawns and tidy yards across the Eurobodalla coast
Short answer, yes we do. Lawn and yard work is one of our listed services at Capital Coastal Cleaning, alongside the inside-the-house and commercial cleaning we're better known for. If your grass has got away from you, the edges have gone shaggy, or the yard is looking tired before a sale or an inspection, we can sort it out.
We cover the same patch we clean, from Durras in the north down through Batemans Bay and out to Moruya. If you're inside the Eurobodalla and you aren't sure whether you fall inside our run, give us a ring on 0479 184 498 and we'll tell you straight away. We would rather say no upfront than book you in and let you down.
Capital Coastal Cleaning is an Indigenous-owned local business that owner Tyson started in 2023, and the same small team you'd meet for a house clean (Tyson, Shanice and Lisa) is the team that handles the outdoor work. You aren't handed off to a random contractor. It's the same police-checked, fully insured crew either way.
What the lawn and yard service actually covers
The bread and butter is mowing and tidying. That means cutting the lawn back to a sensible height, edging along paths, driveways, fence lines and garden beds, and whipper-snipping the bits a mower can't reach. We blow the clippings off your hard surfaces so you aren't walking grass back inside, and we clear the cuttings rather than leaving piles on the lawn to yellow off.
Beyond the mow, we handle general yard tidy-ups. Think weeding garden beds, pulling out the stuff that has crept up along fences and retaining walls, raking up leaf litter, and clearing the rubbish that collects in a yard over a season (old pots, broken bits, blown-in litter, branches that have come down). Coastal yards cop a lot of leaf drop and the wind brings plenty in, so this is a big part of what we do here.
We also tie this in with our rubbish removal service. If the tidy-up creates a trailer load of green waste and junk, we can take it away in the same visit instead of leaving it for you to deal with. That's the bit people usually forget to plan for, and it's the part that turns a quick mow into a weekend gone if you're doing it yourself.
To be upfront about the limits, we're a cleaning and tidy team, not a landscaping or arborist crew. We don't climb and lop large trees, we don't do paving, retaining walls, turf laying or garden design, and we don't run heavy machinery. If the job needs a qualified arborist or a landscaper, we'll tell you and point you the right way. We would rather be honest about where we stop than have a go at something that isn't our trade.
How the coast treats your lawn and yard
Living near the water looks lovely and it's hard on a yard. Salt in the air and sand that blows up off the beach get into everything, and that mix sits on outdoor furniture, fences and pathways the same way it builds up on windows. A yard tidy on the coast isn't just about the grass, it's about keeping the salt and grit knocked back before it does damage.
Lawns down here also grow in bursts. A wet stretch through summer and the grass can leap up in a fortnight, then it sits still through the cooler months. That's worth thinking about when you book. A lot of locals go fortnightly through the growing season and stretch it out to monthly once things slow down. We're happy to set a rough rhythm with you rather than locking you into one fixed schedule all year.
The other coastal thing is the holiday-let and rental market. Around Batemans Bay there are a lot of places that sit empty between guests or tenants, and an overgrown yard is the quickest way for a property to look neglected. We do a fair bit of work keeping these tidy between stays, often alongside the inside clean, so the place is guest-ready front to back.
Booking lawn work with a clean, or on its own
You can book the lawn and yard on its own, you don't have to take any other service to get it. Plenty of our regular mowing customers never have us inside the house at all. That said, the most popular way to use us is to stack the outdoor and indoor jobs into one visit.
End of lease is the obvious one. When you're chasing your bond back, the agent looks at the whole property, and an inspection where the carpets are cleaned and the kitchen sparkles but the yard is knee-high in grass is asking for trouble. We can pair the yard tidy with our end of lease clean, which we do to the REINSW exit standard and back with our bond-back guarantee, so the place presents properly inside and out on handover day.
Selling is the other big one. A tidy yard at the first open home does a lot of quiet work on a buyer before they even walk through the door. We get a few calls from agents and owners wanting the lawns cut, the edges sharp and the yard cleared right before photos and the first inspection.
And for our regular home cleaning customers, it's simply handy. One booking, one team, one job done. If you already have us coming through every fortnight, adding the mow to that visit saves you chasing a separate mowing bloke and trying to line up two sets of dates.
What it costs and how we quote it
Lawn and yard pricing depends on the block, so we don't pretend there's a single number that fits everyone. A small courtyard lawn is a different job to a big sloping block with garden beds running the length of it, and the price has to reflect that. What stays the same is how we quote: a clear price agreed up front. You get a number before we start, and that's the number you pay.
We agree the price first, so you always know the cost before we begin. If we get there and the job is genuinely bigger than what was described on the phone (the grass is much higher than we were told, or there's a lot more clearing than expected), we'll stop, show you, and agree a new figure before carrying on. No surprise charges landing afterwards.
For a sense of where our other work sits, our bond cleans are a fixed price by size, from $450 plus GST for a one bedroom up to $850 plus GST for a four bedroom, and carpet cleaning is a flat $50 per room plus GST. We mention those because lawn work is so often booked alongside them, and people like to picture the whole spend in one go. For the yard itself, the quickest path to an accurate figure is a quick chat and, where it helps, a couple of photos of the block.
How to book and what to expect on the day
Give us a call on 0479 184 498 to get started. We're open seven days, so you aren't stuck waiting until Monday to sort a Saturday mow. Tell us the address, roughly how big the yard is, and what you're after (just a mow, a full tidy, or a tidy plus rubbish run), and we'll give you a fixed quote and a day.
On the day, you don't need to be home for a straightforward mow as long as we can get into the yard, so let us know about gates, locks or a dog out the back when you book. We bring our own gear and we clean up after ourselves, blowing down the paths and clearing the cuttings so the place looks finished, not halfway through.
We're fully insured and the whole team is police-checked, which matters as much for outdoor work on your property as it does for letting us inside. We also keep to low-tox products on the cleaning side, so if you've got pets sniffing around the yard, kids on the grass, or veggie patches you'd rather we didn't spray near, just say so and we'll work around them.
If you've read this far and you're weighing it up, the honest summary is this. We're a small, local, five-star rated cleaning team (5.0 from 110 Google reviews) who also keep yards tidy, especially when it ties in with the cleaning you already need done. We aren't the crew for a major landscaping overhaul, and we'll say so. But for regular mowing, a good yard tidy, a clear-out of green waste, or getting a property looking sharp for an inspection or a sale, we're right here on the coast and happy to help. Give Tyson and the team a ring and we'll sort you out.
